About our Charter Boat - The CAT

Our 36ft. Sea Ray charter fishing boat, The “Cat” is powered by twin 3208 Caterpillar engines and equipped with a 8.5 KW Onan generator that powers it's two air conditioners. Comfortable for all types of deep sea fishing off the Gulf Coast of Alabama, 'The Cat' fishing charter also offers a full galley, and “head”.

Trolling:

From spring through fall when fish migrate from South Florida to the Alabama gulf coast, trolling is at it’s best. Among the migratory species you’ll find during this time are Spanish and King Mackerel, Redfish, Dolphin, and others. This is a great way for families with children to enjoy deep sea fishing. Also, for novice fishermen who want to reel them in for up to six hours, this is a sure bet.

Bottom Fishing:

Bottom fishing is almost always good but the peak times for bottom fishing are spring and fall when competition from other fishing charters is lower. Red Snapper season opens the last week of April and continues through October. In the gulf waters off Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, AL you’ll find Red Grouper, Gray, Triggerfish, Amberjack, and varieties of snapper including Lane, Mangrove, and Black.

High Speed Trolling:

Helpful Fishing Hints

• When Deep Sea Fishing always remember to wear light and comfortable clothes.

• Although you’ll be on the water, the wind and sun can really take their toll. Don’t get dehydrated during your charter fishing experience. Bring light food and plenty of liquids.

• If you are prone to “sea sickness” and take Dramamine, you may want to take it the night before your charter fishing excursion - especially for children, it will make them drowsy.

• You may want to bring hats, sunglasses, and suntan lotion. You’ll be spending a lot of time in the open.

Safety is our primary concern and therefore we do not fish if the weather is too bad. In such cases deposits are refunded. It is always a good idea to plan your Saltwater Fishing Charter Trip near the beginning of your vacation as a precaution against inclement weather.
